  • Ammonia
    A pungent gas compounded of nitrogen and hydrogen.

  • Bleach
    An agent that makes things white or colorless.

  • Chill
    A sensation of cold that often marks the start of an infection and the development of a fever.

  • Humidity
    Wetness in the atmosphere.

  • Hypoxia
    A very strong drive resulting from oxygen deficiency in bodily tissues.

  • Immune system
    A system that protects the body from foreign substances and pathogenic organisms by producing the immune response.

  • Incubation period
    The period between infection and the appearance of symptoms of the disease.

  • Mucous membrane
    Mucus-secreting membrane lining all body cavities or passages that communicate with the exterior.

  • Pneumonia
    Inflammation of the lungs with congestion caused by viruses or bacteria or irritants.

  • Symptoms
    Any sensation or change in bodily function that is experienced by a patient and is associated with a particular disease.

  • Vaccine
    A suspension of weakened or dead pathogenic cells injected in order to stimulate the production of antibodies.
